A series of interviews intended to clear the name of embattled Cambodian tax chief Kong Vibol has raised further questions about his business dealings at home and abroad.

Cambodia collected 3.83 billion U.S. dollars from all sources of taxes in 2017, up 18.5 percent from 3.23 billion U.S. dollars in 2016, according to official reports on Thursday.

Analysts believe Cambodia’s economy is set to match or surpass the International Monetary Fund’s forecast of 4.5 to 5 percent economic growth this year.

Some 100,000 government officials in Cambodia will be required to declare their assets this year in an effort to combat corruption, a senior official said Wednesday.
