A panel of Polish MPs on Tuesday began questioning their first witness as part of a probe into suspected cases of VAT and excise tax fraud under the country’s previous government.

Poland plans to introduce an “exit tax” of up to 19 percent on companies and wealthy individuals who move assets or production abroad, the finance ministry said in draft legislation due to come into force in 2019.

It marks the day on which Poles worked enough hours and earned enough income to pay all their taxes for the year. Last year Tax Freedom Day was June 9.

The Finance Ministry of Poland has released an update on the country’s tax code. According to it, the centre will not tax the income generated from crypto transactions, much to the delight of Poland’s crypto traders!

Cryptocurrency traders in Poland launched a petition to protest the government’s decision to tax all cryptocurrency transactions, even those that aren’t profitable.
